1000km de Spa 2003
15 years after the 1988 edition of the traditional 1000km race at Spa-Francorchamps, this event returns to the calendar of the great Ardennes circuit and will with no doubt be one of the highlights in the European sportscar and GT season!
Being part of the FIA Sportscar Championship and the British GT Championship, the 1000km race will show up a fantastic grid of around 50 cars, including 15 SR1 sportscars, 10 SR2s and 25 GTs. Japanese team Goh come with their Audi R8 and 5 times Le Mans winner Tom Kristensen behind the wheel! This car will feature an all new “Racing for Belgium” livery. Lister will run their new sports prototype for the first time ever in Europe after the Le Mans 24 hours. The “Racing for Holland” team around sportscar legend Jan Lammers will show up with their two spectacular DOME-Judd. 2 Courages, an MG Lola, an ASCARI-Judd, an DBA-Zytec and many more form an excellent overall grid which promises great sportscar racing!
The SR2 grid is dominated by Lucchinis and Pilbeams. Much interest is also given to the GT category with many spectacular cars from the British GT championship and guest competitors from the Belgian and other national GT series. A full grid with 25 cars promises a great race in this class!
